Yvette Balana is a professor of literature at the University of Douala in her native Cameroon. Poet and novelist, she has published three collections of poetry: Je suis la femme fleurie (2006), Quand la veuve danse sur la tombe de la patrie (2011), published at L'Harmattan in Paris in the collection Poètes des cinq continents, and Au bout del'errance (2014), published by Ifrikiya in Yaoundé. Her first novel, Le Pagne de ma grand-mère,was published in 2020 by Proximité in Yaoundé.
