Youcef Koudil is also known under the pseudonym "L'Andalou". He began his career as a cartoonist in 2011, during the "Arab Spring". His drawings were published in the newspaper El Watan weekend. In 2014 "The Andalusian", censored several times, received many threats from pro-regimes and Islamists. However, he continues to publish his virulent drawings on social networks. In 2016, Youcef Koudil received the Grand Prix d'honneur of the Algiers International Comic Strip Festival (FIBDA). The following year, his drawings entered one of the largest libraries of cartoonists in the world, Billy Ireland Cartoon in Columbus (USA). He is a member of Cartooning for Peace.
