Miranda Beshara was born in Cairo to an Egyptian father and a Polish mother. She dreamed of making animated films but studied economics and international development at the American University in Cairo, then international relations at the University of Pittsburgh (USA). With various international organizations and associations, she works on the rights of women and children as well as for inclusive economic and social development in the Arab world. She is one of the co-founders of Hadi Badi, an initiative for the promotion of children's literature in Arabic.
